West Ham ‘AGREE terms with Julen Lopetegui to replace David Moyes’ with manager facing sack after Chelsea thrashing

JULEN LOPETEGUI has “agreed terms” to become the new West Ham manager, according to reports.

The former Wolves boss, 57, is set to replace David Moyes in the summer after accepting the Hammers’ offer.

Both parties are now finalising contracts.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano broke the news, tweeting: “Julen Lopetegui has agreed terms with West Ham to become new head coach replacing David Moyes from next season.

“Lopetegui has accepted #WHUFC proposal, ready to proceed to formal stages.

“Details being finalised then contracts will be signed but agreement in place.”

The news comes after West Ham were thrashed 5-0 by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Moyes, whose second stint in East London began in December 2019, has seen his side slip to ninth in the Premier League table.

They have not won any of their last six games in all competitions.
