West Ham fans brave enough to return for second half of Chelsea clash last three mins as Jackson goal sends them home

The Hammers had already trailed 3-0 at half-time before conceding three minutes after the restart.

David Moyes’ side endured a difficult opening 45 minutes in West London as goals from Cole Palmer, Conor Gallagher and Noni Madueke put the Blues in control.

Several fans had already headed for the exit before the break, whilst those brave enough to stay returned for the second half.

However, even they had seen enough just moments later.

A long ball over the top from Trevoh Chalobah released Madueke, who unselfishly squared for Nicolas Jackson to add a fourth.

The empty seats soon became visible in the away end as Hammers fans left the stadium.

As for those who stayed, chants of “Ole” and “We’ve got the ball” could soon be heard when in possession.

Defeat at Stamford Bridge would all but end West Ham’s hopes of qualifying for Europe.

Their opponents would move five points above them in sixth place, with the Hammers having just two matches remaining.

The 61-year-old’s contract expires this summer and he is yet to pen a new deal.

Meanwhile, former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui has reportedly held talks with the club, despite opposition from supporters.
