Rarely a predictable tournament, the World Championship is throwing up surprise results as ever and the remaining seeds will be hoping to avoid the same fate in the coming days.
The first round runs all the way until Thursday, with an awful lot more snooker to come until the trophy is handed out on May 5.
One player who looks to be in contention to get his hands on that famous old trophy is Zhao Xintong, who has started in seriously impressive fashion in his first round meeting with Jak Jones.
The form player on the planet right now is John Higgins after his Tour Championship win earlier this month, he begins his campaign on Monday morning.
