Could Michael King Reunite with New York?

The New York Yankees have a strong familiarity with Michael King, as he made his debut with New York back in 2019.

In 2020, he struggled to find his groove in a bullpen spot (7.76 ERA in 26.2 innings). However, by 2022, he started to thrive in that role, but the Yankees were really the team that experimented with using him as a starter.

He fully transitioned into a starter in 2024, where he made 30 starts and posted a 2.95 ERA.

King has a career 3.24 ERA over 494.2 innings and 64 starts.

The 30-year-old King has flashed upside down all throughout his career, and now it’s time for him to get paid. After Dylan Cease announced he was signing with the Blue Jays, that made Michael King the next best right-handed starter in free agency, and might be the reason why all these AL East teams don’t want to miss out on signing King.
