
Two men were shot and killed Wednesday morning, Dec. 3 — one of them by police — in the Lake Balboa area of the San Fernando Valley.
The shootings were reported at about 7:30 a.m. in the 17200 block of Valerio Street.
A Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said there was an officer-involved shooting at that address but released no details.
Another officer told KTLA5 that police had responded to a call for a mental-health crisis and that an officer shot someone.
A Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman said crews responded after being summoned by police at about 8:10 a.m., but did not transport anyone to a hospital.
Two men, one believed to be 62 years old and the other 40 years old, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to LAFD spokeswoman Lyndsey Lantz.
The Fire Department did not have information about how they were killed.
