The New England Patriots have enjoyed good injury luck all season. Their luck turned around Sunday afternoon in the first quarter on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals.
It is rookie offensive lineman Jared Wilson who had to be carted to the locker room following a lower body injury suffered. Wilson has started 11 of the 12 games played in his rookie season.
The good news, at least Patriots fans hope, is that the injury did not seem to be an outwardly gruesome one. Wilson came up limping on a very traditional looking rep.
However, he needed help to get to the sideline and into the blue medical tent. After coming out of the tent, a cart took him to New England’s locker room.
Losing Wilson is a huge blow for an offensive line unit that has endured minimal changes thus far. In fact, the starting offensive line in New England has been the same for 11 of the 12 games played this season.
This has been a major contributing factor in making the Patriots offensive line one of the most effective in the NFL.
More updates to come, Wilson is currently “questionable” to return.
