The earth shook again near San Ramon early Thursday, which in recent times is just a normal thing.
The U.S. Geological Survey called it a magnitude 3.2 earthquake and said it was centered about 2½ miles from San Ramon.
The quake was the latest in a seismic swarm that began Nov. 9.
Thursday’s quake happened at 7:27 a.m. Its epicenter is in the same area as that of the dozens of other recent quakes — in the Bishop Ranch/Canyon Lakes area of San Ramon. The USGS has recorded 83 earthquakes within a 1-mile radius around the town since Nov. 9.
The earthquakes, which geologists call a swarm, are small, ranging in size from 0.6 magnitude to 3.8. Six, including one Monday night at 10:47 p.m., were 3.0 or above — generally large enough for most people to feel.
The largest of this month’s swarm was 3.8, on Nov. 9.
