GB News is facing rising criticism after a guest claimed that rapper Drake’s lyrics discuss ‘raping women’.

The moment occurred during a discussion about fellow rapper Kanye West’s ban from the UK over his history of antisemitism, which forced Wireless Festival to cancel the entire event as he was set to headline all three nights.

During a segment on the news channel on Wednesday afternoon, guest Kiki Turner (daughter of GB News presenter Bev Turner) appeared to give a ‘teen’s eye view’ on the situation.

She was joined in the studio by her mum and co-presenter Andrew Pierce.

After explaining Kanye’s (also known as Ye) enduring popularity among the younger generation, she claimed that, aside from the Heil Hitler song, his discography doesn’t include ‘antisemitic remarks’ and is instead about making a life for yourself outside of your hometown.

She continued: ‘But you have people like Drake who is talking about stabbing people, shooting people, raping women, who performed last year for three days.’

Andrew then piped in to add: ‘My reaction to the controversy around this bloke is, well that’s what they’re all like, these rappers. They’re homophobic, they’re misogynistic, often antisemitic, they’re anti-everything.

‘So I couldn’t understand what the fuss was particularly about this one because he seemed no different to all the others.’

Viewers have pushed back against Kiki’s comments regarding Drake, however, pointing out that it is not the case that he has rapped about ‘raping women’.

‘This could prove a very expensive error by GB News. Drake is famously litigious; accusing him of “rapping about raping women” is quite a false claim to make on air,’ NelsAbbey wrote on X.

‘This is an absolutely ridiculous thing to say, when has Drake ever rapped about those things,’ Ilkay8silky shared.

The clip of the discussion posted by GB News to social media has since been taken down.

‘This is why you need to try to have a well-rounded understanding of what’s going on in the world because huh?,’ DeOne__ shared.

‘This is actually an insane claim,’ ReeceALJv2 added, with countless more going as far as to say Drake should ‘sue’.

The God’s Plan hitmaker headlined all three nights of Wireless in 2025, although his run ended on a sour note when his final performance ended after only 40 minutes.

Meanwhile, after the Home Office revoked West’s visa earlier this week, Wireless made a statement confirming its cancellation with refunds for all ticketholders.

It continued: ‘As with every Wireless Festival, multiple stakeholders were consulted in advance of booking YE, and no concerns were highlighted at the time.

‘Antisemitism in all its forms is abhorrent, and we recognise the real and personal impact these issues have had.

‘As YE said today, he acknowledges that words alone are not enough, and in spite of this, still hopes to be given the opportunity to begin a conversation with the Jewish community in the UK.’
