âSummer Houseâ fans will notice something missing during one of the final weekends of season 10 â Amanda Batula. As the group returned to the Hamptons for the second-to-last weekend, Batulaâs absence quickly became a major talking point among the cast. New details from the episode now reveal why the Bravo star chose not to attend.
Amanda Batula Explains âSummer Houseâ Absence
During Episode 12, her husband, Kyle Cooke, told the group he was unsure whether Batula would be joining them at all.
âWell, I just got off the phone with her, and I thought she was just gonna come out later tonight,â Cooke said. âAnd I don’t know if she’s gonna make it at all. … It is what it is. I don’t know. I was just like, âC’mon, like, second to last weekendâ¦ââ
When Ciara Miller arrived, she also asked about Batulaâs whereabouts.
âOh, she didn’t tell you? She kind of bailed,â Cooke said.
âI don’t really have a good answer,â he added. âShe’s been on the struggle bus.â
Miller then called Batula directly to find out what was going on. During their FaceTime conversation, Batula explained her decision.
âI’m sorry. I just can’t do it,â Batula said. âThe idea of, like, going out there is overwhelming me so much. I was like, I just need to, like, not go.â
She later elaborated in a confessional.
âObviously, this summer, for Kyle and I, has been rough so far,â Batula said. âAnd I feel like it’s sort of catching up to me at this point. I’ve been showing up with a smile on my face every weekend and being, like, the joyful, bubbly Amanda, and trying to power through it all. And it’s to a point where, like, I can’t take it anymore, and I just need to be alone right now.â
As she told Miller, âI just need to, like, give myself some time.â
Kyle Cooke Reacts to Amanda Batulaâs Absence
Cooke also addressed Batulaâs absence in a preview for the episode, reflecting on how the weekend felt without her.
âFeeling a little more light-hearted, a little like myself â and itâs âcuz my wifeâs nowhere to be seen,â he said. âThat is a rude awakening. And it makes me realize just how effed we really are.â
Later, Cooke opened up to Ben Waddell in a conversation about the challenges in his relationship.
âYo, real talk, Iâm gonna level with you,â Cooke said. âI basically really felt bad the first couple of weeks. Just, I felt like you saw me at my worst.â
âI donât think this is your worst,â Waddell replied. âEveryone goes through troubles with business and relationships.â
Throughout season 10, Cooke and Batula have been open about ongoing tension in their marriage. In the premiere, Cooke said, âEvery summer, Amanda just makes me feel like I don’t exist. She just, like, doesn’t fâk with me.â
Batula also reflected on her expectations for married life.
âOnce upon a time, I thought, like, you fall in love, and when you choose the person that you want to get married to, you’re happy,â she said. âI didn’t think (expletive) would be this hard in the first few years.â
The couple has also disagreed over Cookeâs DJ schedule and work commitments.
âWhere do I fit in?â Batula asked during a previous episode.
Cooke defended his decision, saying, âIâm making money doing DJ gigs, but I’m also getting Loverboy into venues that normally charge.
âSummer Houseâ Future and âIn the Cityâ Spinoff Announced
As season 10 nears its finale, Bravo has already announced the next chapter for several cast members. The new spinoff âIn the City,â featuring Batula, Cooke, and Lindsay Hubbard, is set to premiere May 19.
The debut will include a two-hour crossover with the âSummer Houseâ season 10 finale. The series, filmed in New York City, will follow the next phase of their lives, including the end of Cooke and Batulaâs marriage.
The trailer also shows tension between the former couple.
âWe donât have a pre-nup, but if you come for me, Iâll come for you,â Batula says.
âThat would be a losing battle,â Cooke responds.
The preview also includes a moment between Batula and West Wilson, who confirmed their situationship in late March.
