<p id=”par-1_60″>Just weeks before Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni were set <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/justin-baldoni-wants-evidence-kept-jury-blake-lively-trial.html/”>to go to trial</a>, they settled their case. In late 2024, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/blake-livelys-legal-team-remains-confident-in-the-case-against-justin-baldoni-despite-a-judges-ruling.html/”>Lively sued Baldoni</a> for sexual harassment and for orchestrating a smear campaign against her. Baldoni vehemently denied the allegations. After close to a year and a half of legal proceedings, they announced they would no longer go to trial. </p>

<p id=”par-2_30″>In December 2024, Lively sued Baldoni for sexual harassment on the set of <em>It Ends With Us</em>. She also accused him of engaging in <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/pr-team-called-rebel-wilson-fing-nuts-works-justin-baldoni.html/”>a retaliatory smear campaign</a> against her. </p>
<p id=”par-3_47″>Baldoni responded by suing for defamation and extortion. He also sued the New York Times after it published a piece about the alleged smear campaign. A judge ultimately tossed out both suits. One month ago, a judge tossed out all but three of Lively’s claims about Baldoni.</p>

<p id=”par-4_34″>On Monday, Lively and Baldoni announced that they reached a settlement after a court-ordered settlement conference, meaning that they will <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/justin-baldonis-lawyer-says-looking-forward-going-trial-blake-lively-lawsuit.html/”>no longer go to trial</a> later this month. Their lawyers issued a joint statement.</p>
<p id=”par-5_69″>“The end product — the movie<em> It Ends With Us</em> — is a source of pride to all of us who worked to bring it to life,” Bryan Freedman, Ellyn Garofalo, Michael Gottlieb, and Esra Hudson said in a statement, per <a target=”_blank” href=”https://www.nbcnews.com/pop-culture/pop-culture-news/blake-lively-justin-baldoni-reach-settlement-ends-us-case-rcna258456″ rel=”noreferrer noopener”>NBC News</a>. “Raising awareness, and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors — and all survivors — is a goal that we stand behind.”</p>
<p id=”par-6_11″>They noted that Lively’s complaints against Baldoni “deserved to be heard.”</p>
<p id=”par-7_39″>“We remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments. It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment,” the statement continued.</p>
<p id=”par-8_12″>At this point, the terms of the settlement are not public knowledge.</p>
