In recent months, Short has spoken warmly about the joy his family continues to bring into his life, especially as he embraces being a grandfather.
During a 2025 appearance on Ted Danson and Woody Harrelsonâs podcast “Where Everybody Knows Your Name,” the actor reflected on how profoundly his outlook changed after welcoming grandchildren into the family.
“I now have three grandsons,” he shared, per People. “Theo will be four in January. And then Grayson is two and four months, and Campbell just turned two. It’s so amazing. It is unbelievable.”

The comedian said his grandchildren brought a renewed sense of wonder and purpose to his life, something he now treasures deeply.
“I don’t care about anything anymore about my little this and that, I just so want to be around this. It’s so magical,â he continued. âThey love you, these grandkids.”
