After spending years working behind the scenes in the entertainment industry, a longtime insider is sharing which stars left the biggest impression on her for all the right reasons.
Fran Weinstein, who spent three decades behind the camera at “Entertainment Tonight” and “The Insider,” named some of the nicest celebrities she encountered over the years.
1. George Clooney
GettyFirst on her list is George Clooney. According to Weinstein, the “Ocean’s 8” star is one of the rare Hollywood A-listers who never acted like a stereotypical movie star.
“Number one is always George Clooney because this guy just gets the game,” Weinstein told NewsNation’s Paula Froelich. “He doesn’t take himself seriously. He’s this, you know, dapper suave guy, movie star, idol.”
The veteran insider continued, “He doesn’t get upset. Never gets ruffled by anything you ask him. He just plays the game. He loves to have a good time, and he gets it. He just gets the game.”
Weinstein recalled one memorable encounter she had with George Clooney while interviewing him on the red carpet at the Daytime Emmy Awards.
“He said to me, ‘Oh look, there’s a really big movie star coming now, so I better get out of the way,’” Weinstein recalled. “And he was the biggest movie star going. He’s just great.”
2. Taylor Swift
GettyNext on her list of nicest celebrities is mega pop star Taylor Swift. Weinstein recalled interviewing a young Swift early in her career and said she immediately knew she was something special.
“You know, I have to say Taylor Swift was class,” the insider noted. “This is a girl who was well raised.”
She added, “Well raised, well-mannered, always turned out beautifully, respectfully, answered all of your questions. She was really a star from out of the gate.”
When asked if she knew back then just how big Swift would become, Weinstein answered without hesitation.
“Yes, I did. I knew it. She had to be,” Weinstein replied. “She just had that it thing.”
True enough, Swift has become one of the most decorated and celebrated musicians of her generation. She earned record-breaking awards throughout her career, including at least 40 American Music Awards and 49 Billboard Music Awards.
3. Beyoncé
GettyFinally, Fran Weinstein named Beyoncé as one of the nicest celebrities in Hollywood. The entertainment industry veteran revealed that the superstar was “so professional” it was almost shocking.
“I had a couple of run-ins with her and she was so professional it was almost shocking,” Weinstein said. “Especially in the music industry, when you say five o’clock and somebody shows up at 6:45. But Beyonce would be ready. Hair, makeup at 4:59.”
She continued, “Always the kindest girl. Kind, sweet, gentle. Another southern girl. Well raised. She had that great mom, Tina Knowles.”
Aside from the nicest celebrities, Fran Weinstein also named the meanest stars in Hollywood, including Anne Heche, Harvey Keitel and Sean “Diddy” Combs. Weinstein shares more details in her memoir, “Tortured Souls.”
