GTA 6 publisher Take-Two Interactive has outlined how many games it will release over the coming years, as the Max Payne remake looks set for 2027.

Take-Two Interactive might be consumed by GTA 6 at the moment, but it has plenty of other titles on the horizon.

Beyond Rockstar’s output, the publisher is known for franchises like Borderlands, Bioshock, Mafia, XCOM, Sid Meier’s Civilization, and sports games such as NBA 2K26.

While we know some other titles the publisher has its up its sleeve, like Bioshock 4, Judas (from the creator of Bioshock), and remakes of the first two Max Payne games, Take-Two’s latest financial report has shed light on other projects it has lined-up for the future.

As noted in the company’s earnings report for Q4 2026, Take-Two is set to release three mobile games, eight sports games, three ‘core new IP’ titles, and 15 ‘core existing IP’ titles (which covers remakes, remasters, and ‘platform extensions’ aka ports) before April 2029.

For the current fiscal year, ending April 2027, Take-Two president Karl Slatoff outlined the company’s plans more specifically. Along with GTA 6 on November 19, Take-Two is set to launch two mobile titles (one being CSR 3 – Street Car Racing), three sports games in NBA 2K27, PGA Tour 2K27, and WWE 2K27, along with one ‘platform extension’.

It’s unclear what the latter could be, but a current gen port of Red Dead Redemption 2 has been rumoured for some time. It’s also possible this could relate to some kind of other port, like GTA 5 on Nintendo Switch 2 or GTA 6 on PC.

Beyond April 2027, Slatoff breaks down the company’s slate even further. He claims Take-Two will release 22 titles during the 2028 and 2029 fiscal year, including one mobile title, five sports titles, three core new IPs, and 13 games from core existing IPs, with the latter comprised of seven sequels and six remakes, remasters, and platform extensions.

Two of these ‘core new IP’ titles are listed, namely Judas from Bioshock creator Ken Levine and roguelike hero shooter Project ETHOS. This means another new IP is in development we don’t know about yet.

The spree of sequels and remakes/remasters/ports, however, has led to speculation over what the company could be referring to. The remakes of Max Payne 1+2 are obviously filed under the latter, and Bioshock 4 is likely part of the former. However, it’s possible this is alluding to another Mafia remake, more Borderlands games, or even a L.A. Noire sequel

Remedy hasn’t announced a release date for its Max Payne 1+2 remakes but with the studio set to launch Control Resonant this year, it makes sense that the remakes would arrive at some point in 2027. This latest financial report confirms it will be sometime after March 2027 at the earliest.

If they’re confident about these remakes, it’s possible Rockstar is planning a remaster for 2012’s Max Payne 3 to complete the trilogy. Unlike the prior two entries, Max Payne 3 was developed by Rockstar, without Remedy’s involvement.

Whatever’s in the pipeline, it’s certainly set to be a historic year for Take-Two Interactive, with GTA 6 arriving over 13 years after GTA 5’s launch.
