Donald Trump turns 80 today – and, true to form, he has marked the occasion with a brag.
Taking to Truth Social, the president shared a series of throwback photos and a rather chilling AI image, as well as some bold claims about the impressive changes he’s made since returning to office.
One photo showed a younger Trump posing on a chair, which he captioned: ‘Years ago after saving the Wollman Skating Rink in Central Park – Long before I fixed The Reflecting Pool, and everything else in Washington, D.C., including, most importantly, CRIME!’
He also shared an AI-generated image of himself, wearing a jacket reading ‘commander-in-chief’, observing drills on US Navy ships as rockets flew above him.
The image was captioned: ‘You’re getting discombobulated.’
How is Trump celebrating his 80th birthday?
Trump is celebrating his birthday today with a showstopping birthday spectacle – a cage-fighting show on the storied South Lawn of the White House.
The president will be surrounded by cabinet leaders, top administration officials, Republican lawmakers and 4,000-plus screaming spectators as the brawl kicks off at the UFC arena tonight.
Thousands more will be watching on big screens from the nearby Ellipse.
But the fight is already facing potential hurdles. The weather is meant to bring ‘extreme’ thunderstorms and even insect swarms across Washington.
And a federal judge has rejected an attempt to block Trump’s UFC fight from taking place. The lawsuit said the administration used a ‘deeply corrupt’ scheme to enrich his allies.

The president has sought to tie Sunday’s event- which features seven fights running past midnight – months-long celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
But it is much more geared toward celebrating himself, so much so that the G7 summit for leaders of industrialised nations pushed back their get-together so that the president could attend his cage-match party and then fly straight to France for the meetings.
It is a dramatic departure from the way the previous president marked his 80th birthday.
When Trump’s predecessor, President Joe Biden, turned 80 in November 2022, he celebrated with a private family brunch at the White House, laying bare just how much and how quickly things have changed.
Amid the spectacle of Trump’s birthday, questions about his health are still lingering.
Dr Sean Barbabella said Trump is ‘fully fit’ to serve after he underwent a CT scan and other heart imaging, along with cancer screenings and other preventative assessments carried out by 22 specialists.
Trump wrote on Truth Social: ‘Unlike other US Presidents, none of whom have ever taken an approved, high difficulty, Cognitive Test, I scored a perfect 30 out of 30, considered “extreme intelligence.”
‘In fact, this is my fourth such test, all PERFECT or 120 correct answers out of 120 questions asked! It is very rare that anyone gets a Perfect Score, especially when achieved four times in a row.’
However, reports have suggested the ‘high difficulty’ test may be the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, used to screen for dementia and cognitive impairment.
Dr Jonathan Reiner, Professor of Medicine and Surgery and CNN Medical Analyst, questioned why Trump has now been subjected to the test four times – and others have chimed in with concerns.
