The Masked Singer is getting a huge shake-up with a new addition to the judging panel, only there’s a massive twist.

TV icon and national treasure Alan Carr has joined Davina McCall, Mo Gilligan, Maya Jama, and Jonathan Ross for the next season of the competition show.

However, he’s not going to be any run-of-the-mill judge, instead, the chatty man will bring his own rival team to work as ‘Wild Cards’.

His team will go head to head against the newly dubbed ‘Legends’ for the title of ‘best detective’ and, of course, bragging rights.

Alan said: ‘I can’t wait to play detective – so excited to be shouting “take
it off” in the actual studio rather than on my settee at home.’

He branded it a ‘dream come true’ to be joining the familiar faces as the ITV show heads into its sixth season.

Joel Dommett will also return to host the musical guessing game, which saw Sugababes star Keisha Buchanan take the crown after last season as Moth.

Previous winners include McFly’s Danny Jones, West End star Samantha Barks, Busted’s Charlie Simpson, and singers Joss Stone and Natalie Imbruglia.

The first ever season aired in 2020, with Girls Aloud legend Nicola Roberts who was dressed as Queen Bee.

ITV Director of Entertainment, Reality and Daytime, Katie Rawcliffe said: ‘We are thrilled to welcome Alan Carr to The Masked Singer.

‘His wit and energy are the perfect addition to our new “rival panel” and we can’t wait for viewers to see the sparks fly.’
