A woman was found stabbed to death inside a home in Avondale on Monday, Chicago police said.
The woman, 48, was discovered unresponsive with a puncture wound to her chest around 5 p.m. in the 3900 block of West Wellington Avenue, police said in a statement.
Responding officers found a weapon at the scene and took a person of interest into custody, police said.
No further details were available.
