Somehow, Josh Homme has transformed right before our eyes and fans are just noticing.

The rocker has been busy this summer, performing on Queens of the Stone Age’s stadium tour with the Foo Fighters in the US.

Fresh from their European legs, the two iconic rock bands have been on top form, but their catalogue of hits isn’t the only thing fans have been lapping up.

It seems Homme, 53, has become the latest ‘internet boyfriend’ following his incredible – and gradual – transformation that has been particularly noticeable since the tour started last week.

With a new hairdo, lean frame and that classic rugged rocker sex appeal, the musician has been at the centre of a lot of attention. Or, as social media would have it, a thirst trap.

‘He’s aged the best out of anyone i have ever seen ever ngl,’ Jamilahmoniique commented on an Instagram video of Homme jamming on stage.

Others seemed to have the video playing on loop, with Caseydtraveler confessing: ‘How many times did you watch this? Yes,’ along with Zlazena6 who joked: ‘Why is this video 4 hours long?’

‘Homme is the perfect last name for him cuz he is a fine specimen of a MAN!’ Elizmose declared, while Lacaroaparicio said the singer was ageing ‘like a fine wine.’

Oaklandartist claimed: ‘He’s on that Rick Springfield aging [sic] plan,’ referring to the Zoot frontman who is also in the eternally youthful club.

It’s hard to pinpoint the exact method behind Homme’s transformation, but he recently spoke about overhauling his lifestyle following a series of health issues.

In 2023, Homme revealed he had been diagnosed with cancer the previous year and had undergone surgery to remove it. He did not reveal specifically which cancer he had but confirmed the procedure was successful.

Speaking to Revolver magazine at the time, the musician said: ‘I never say it can’t get any worse. I never say that, and I wouldn’t advise it. But I do say it can get better.

‘Cancer is just the cherry on top of an interesting time period, you know? I’m extremely thankful that I’ll get through this, and I’ll look back at this as something that’s f****d up — but will have made me better. I’m cool with that. There’s a lot of stuff I want to do. And there’s a lot of people I want to do that with.’

In 2024, Queens of the Stone Age announced they were cancelling their tour so that Homme could receive ‘essential medical care’. He later revealed that he was bedbound for seven months during the ordeal.

‘I had a lot of time to think, you know? I was told I was gonna spend 18 months, two years there, so I was not excited,’ he previously told Consequence of Sound

Fast-forward to now, and fans have claimed that Homme looks ‘better than ever.’

Opening up about his new mindset, Homme attributed his healthy new lifestyle to cutting back on vices, telling ABC.net.au earlier this year: ‘You have to be honest about what you’re feeling and going through, whether that’s physical or mental. And look at those moments of understanding as a real gift and a chance to move forward through this life in a positive way.’
