If you got just 80 cents in your pocket, Irv’s Burgers is ready to feed you by offering you its classic burger for less than a dollar to mark a milestone birthday.
The restaurant, which originally opened in West Hollywood along Route 66 in 1946 with the name Queen’s Burgers, is offering its signature Roadside Burger for 80 cents on Aug. 26 at every location until they run out.
The burger is made with a pressed patty with American cheese, Irv’s sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle on a toasted bun.
Other specials that day include giveaways like free burgers for a year, $80 gift cards and combo meals. Customers can also buy limited-edition 80th anniversary hats, tees and pins, and customers who are 80 years of age or older get a free Roadside Burger. For every full-size combo sold, Irv’s donates 80 cents to Three Square and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.
“A burger stand doesn’t last 80 years on its own. It lasts because people keep showing up, generation after generation, and making it part of their lives,” said Lawrence Longo, CEO of Irv’s Burgers, in a statement.
“Pricing our Roadside Burger at 80 cents is our way of giving some of that value back to them,” the statement continued.
Irv’s Burger has locations at 1000 S. La Brea Ave., Los Angeles, 23401 Cross Creek Road, Malibu and 7998 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood.
