Charli XCX is capping off “SS26” with a late-summer Lake Como getaway that she’s celebrating with an especially stylish bikini. The Music, Fashion, Film superstar kicked off an Instagram carousel with a thoughtfully lensed photo of a chic multi-colored two-piece honoring film director Gus Van Sant, who shot her recent Rolling Stone cover.
“It’s less about being hidden behind hair and makeup and wind and drama,” she said of the shoot in the accompanying Rolling Stone cover story. “Don’t get me wrong, I love shoots like that, too. But with [Van Sant], I really wanted to do something honest.”
Other slides show dayboats roaming Lake Como’s turquoise waters and spirited moments featuring husband George Daniel, the 1975 drummer whom she married in 2025. There’s also a peek at a wine-fueled game of Guess Who—musicians Frank Zappa and Matty Healy, as well as Charli XCX’s manager, Sam Pringle, were the correct answers. But Charli’s stylish bikini is the throughline, appearing in four more photos, including one of the especially cheeky variety and another showing the singer perched in a lakeside window.
The vacation was well earned. Her eighth studio album, Music, Fashion, Film, debuted at No. 1 on Billboard‘s Top Album Sales chart after its July 24 release on the strength of singles including “Rock Music,” “SS26,” “Wink Wink,” and “Camera.” The performance marked her career-best record to date after Brat and Crash both topped out at No. 2.
According to Billboard, its release comprised 15 vinyl variants (including three signed editions), four CD variants (including two signed editions), four digital download editions (including one with three additional B-sides), and one cassette. The record also took No. 1 on Billboard‘s Vinyl Albums and Indie Store Album Sales charts, No. 2 on Top Alternative Albums and Top Rock & Alternative Albums, and No. 3 on the Billboard 200.
After her luxe Italian getaway, Charli will make her debut at the UK megafestival Reading & Leeds as a headliner on Friday, August 28 (Reading) and Saturday, August 29 (Leeds). See all of her upcoming tour dates below:
