Video emerges of Kyler Gordon workout 1 day after Bears cast doubt on return

One day after Bears general manager Ryan Poles said he couldn’t guarantee that slot cornerback Kyler Gordon would ever play for them again, a rehab specialist posted videos of Gordon going through private workouts.

The “Foot Doctor Moe” Instagram account — linked to Montel Fleming, a rehab specialist — posted clips of Gordon, wearing Bears shorts and a baggy T-shirt, doing lunges, jumping and sprinting. It’s unclear when the videos were shot — it wasn’t at Halas Hall — but the messaging is clear. Gordon was moving fairly well.

Captions written beneath the video includes “Priming the right way” and saying that “how you really fix an injury” is understanding where in the body the issue is.

In the past, Fleming has has posted videos of work he’s done with Bears D’Andre Swift, Jaylon Johnson and Cam Lewis.

Gordon has been out with a calf injury since the spring. Poles said Tuesday that he didn’t know if Gordon would play for the Bears again, but said he was hopeful. He and Bears coach Ben Johnson have been openly frustrated with his slow recovery.

“I think when people come back from injuries, there’s different things that happen,” Poles said. “Sometimes they return fast, sometimes they’re slow. So it’s really a timing thing and healing thing and confidence thing.”
