But the documentary – which is co-produced by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell Productions – could find success on streaming. </p>
<p id=”par-2_41″>On Wednesday, Paramount+ announced it had licensed the movie, which is directed by Alysa Nahmias and follows four driven young girls as they compete to become a top‑selling “Cookie Queen” while navigating ambition, friendship, and the realities of an $800 million business.</p>

<p id=”par-3_50″><em>Cookie Queens</em> will premiere January 6, 2027, on Paramount+. It’s the first time that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have teamed up with the streamer; their other projects, including <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/there-is-a-bug-in-your-food-commentator-blasts-meghan-markle-unsanitary-cookies-with-love-meghan-season-2.html/”><em>With Love, Meghan</em></a><em>,</em> and <em>Heart of Invictus</em>, streamed on Netflix as part of a multi-million dollar deal with the company.</p>
<p id=”par-4_43″>Meghan and Harry signed on as executive producers of <em>Cookie Queens </em>earlier this year, after the movie earned an audience award at the 2026 SXSW Festival. At a screening in July, Megan said that the film was “more than just a cookie movie.”</p>
<p id=”par-5_76″>“It’s such a brilliant portrayal of Americana and the global tradition of the Girl Scouts,” she shared (via <a href=”https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/meghan-markle-alysa-nahmias-cookie-queens-1236659429/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>The Hollywood Reporter</a>). “When I describe it to people, I say, ‘I know you think it’s just going to be a cute film about cookies,’ and yes, it’s very cute — but every time we’ve seen it, there’s not a dry eye in the house. There are so many meaningful, grounding moments that make it much more resonant.”</p>
