WOODLAND HILLS — El Camino Real baseball coach Josh Lienhard, girls soccer coach Eric Choi and boys tennis coach Jason Grider were reinstated to their active roles as teachers and coaches, a source from El Camino Real administration told the LA Daily News on Tuesday.
A three-week investigation took place after Lienhard, Choi and Grider were accused of submitting CPR and first-aid cards that did not meet the school’s requirements. Lienhard, Choi and Grider were walked off campus on Thursday, Aug. 13 and put on paid administrative leave while the investigation took place.
Choi and Grider are allowed to return and begin coaching under the condition that they conduct interviews as the investigation into meeting CPR and first-aid card requirements remains ongoing, according to the source.
The return of Choi, Grider and Lienhard comes a week after former El Camino Real board chair Brad Wright resigned from his position.
A statement on behalf of El Camino Real baseball parents about Lienhard’s return.
“We’re relieved that Coach Lienhard is finally back with his students and players,” the statement read. “He’s a man of stellar character and he can get back to taking care of the kids.”
