Former England rugby player and The Traitors star Joe Marler has been announced as the first-ever Celebrity Gladiator.
The 6ft prop, who retired from professional rugby last year before winning over viewers on the celebrity version of The Traitors, will appear on the next series of the BBC’s Gladiators under the new name, Mauler.
The BBC has confirmed Joe will make special appearances throughout series four, going head-to-head with contestants as they take on the show’s challenges.
Filming is already underway in Sheffield ahead of the programme’s return to BBC One and iPlayer in 2027.
Known for his physical style of play and outspoken personality, Joe earned 95 England caps before deciding to hang up his boots.
Since retiring, he has cemented his place as a TV personality after his appearance on The Traitors.
