Banished Hannah Fry has discovered she actually has a family connection to another Celebrity Traitors star.
The 42-year-old maths professor was sensationally outnumbered at the roundtable last night, having raised unshakeable suspicions with her traitorous behaviour and inconsistent stories.
She received the most votes and was unanimously banished from Ardross Castle, leaving the Faithfuls to celebrate after successfully ousting another Traitor following Richard E Grant’s demise.
But while her time in Claudia Winkleman’s game of deception is over, it appears there are still surprises around every corner for Hannah.
After her exit, Hannah was asked who she was closest to in the cast and quickly sang the praises of comedian Joanne McNally, 43.
‘I really like Joanne. We actually discovered that we’re cousins by marriage,’ Hannah said. ‘So her cousin is married to my cousin.’
‘We’re basically sisters. I really loved her so much. She described herself as how she came out of the womb as a show pony,’ she added to the BBC.
‘That’s the perfect description of that woman.’
Hannah called Joanne ‘phenomenal’, lauding how she ‘knows exactly who she is, and she is totally unapologetic about it’.
‘I cannot tell you how much I admire her.’
The Traitors is no stranger to personal connections; who could forget the infamous breakfast in season one when Tom and Alex were revealed to be a couple, or the revelation in season two that Diane was Ross’s mum?
In season three, Armani and Maia were open about being sisters, but come season four, it was back to concealing alliances, as Judy and Roxy hid that they were mother and daughter, while Ross and Ellie hid their romance.
Elsewhere, Hannah backed Maya Jama, the only original Traitor left standing alongside recruited James Acaster, for the win.
‘I really want Maya to win. I think Maya is playing the most amazing game,’ she said.
‘When someone looks like that, I think that you expect her to have a bit of a chip on her shoulder in some way or another, because, good God, she’s one of the most beautiful women alive, but she’s also just so much fun.’
‘No airs and graces, totally delightful to be around. I really want her to win,’ she declared, also questioning whether Leigh-Anne Pinnock is ‘actually psychic’, because she’s ‘the most perceptive person’ Hannah has ‘ever come across’.
Hannah had a tough run in The Celebrity Traitors, as the heat was firmly on her from early days when she and Jerry Hall survived a murder.
As the only two eligible to be killed that night after quitting the mission, the shock around the breakfast table was undeniable the next morning when both walked in unscathed, leaving others to question whether one had been recruited.
Hannah was, of course, invited to join the Traitors in the turret and accepted Maya and James’s invitation after they believed her intelligence would serve them well.
Alas, the professor’s run as a Traitor was short, as she never quite convinced her fellow players that she wasn’t part of the cloaked trio, leaving Maya and James with no choice but to turn on her.
So, while she managed to see out the banishments of Faithfuls Myha’la and Julie Hesmondhalgh, plus the face-to-face murder of Rob Beckett, Hannah’s cards were marked.
In the aftermath of Hannah’s departure, the surviving Traitors recruited again, ignoring Joe Lycett’s pleas and instead bringing in media personality King Kenny, whose reaction to discovering their identities quickly went viral.
Do you think the Traitors were right to recruit Kenny?
-
Yes
-
No
Whether it was a smart move remains to be seen, although viewers reckon Joe could have unintentionally put himself at risk with his vocal cries about wanting to be recruited, saying he’s playing a ‘dangerous game’.
He’s not the only one in the firing line, though, as Joanne made a mighty slip-up, implying she was present when the face-to-face murders took place… even though she, as a Faithful, wasn’t.
Fellow players are also questioning her voting record, since she defended Richard by not banning him.
Meanwhile, the castle is undecided on Ross Kemp and James Blunt, with the latter having led the charge to vote out Faithful star Julie.
There really is no telling where this game will go next.
The Celebrity Traitors continues on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
