Konya and Diane bring a lot of resources to their ambitious projects. Diane, who made her fortune as a wholesale construction supplier, is America’s richest self-made woman. Konya is a savvy real estate agent with an eye for design. Together, they’re on a mission to transform a city that was once voted the “worst” place to live in Wisconsin by USA Today.

In Betting on Beloit Season 2, Konya and her team – including her husband Matt (a plumbing contractor and former home builder), good friend and project manager Pete, and her Realtor nephew Connor, as well as designer friends Kristin and Mitch – tackle larger, one-of-a-kind properties with tighter deadlines and unforgiving budgets. The stakes are high. They’ve made a significant investment into these homes, with the goal of attracting new residents to Beloit. But if the market dictates a different value, they could be left holding the bag.

In this exclusive clip from the season 2 premiere, Konya takes Diane on a tour of an under-renovation property. The house has been torn down to the studs. But even without the benefit of walls and fixtures, Diane’s eagle-eye spots a potential problem when Konya shows her the planned powder room on the main level.

“Oh, I think they should have put the door on that side,” she says.

“You and your opinions,” Konya replies.

“This house took a lot of design work, and we finally found the spot for the powder room. But then my mom walks in the door, and immediately the opinions come out,” Konya tells a producer.

The tour continues, and Diane notices more red flags. She wonders if space should be sacrificed for a dedicated dining room and a large kitchen.

“The living room feels a little neglected,” she points out.

“I agree the living room’s a little small,” Konya says. “And the dining room is big. And the kitchen is huge.”

“So, I think my buyer is a chef,” she adds, as Diane laughs. “I’ll market it that way.”

Betting on Beloit Season 2 premieres Saturday, September 12, with back-to-back episodes at 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. (ET) / 11:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. (CT) on A&E.
