Mafia 3 and Call Of Duty: WW2 are currently free on the PlayStation Store in the UK, in what might be another Sony blunder.
Sony dishes out free games to PlayStation Plus subscribers every month, but it may have accidentally released two others into the freebie chute.
As verified by GameCentral, 2016’s Mafia 3 is currently listed as free for everyone (no PS Plus subscription required) on the PlayStation Store. At the time of writing, you can also claim the game’s DLC for free, which includes extra missions, weapons, and vehicles.
While one random freebie is odd in itself, Call Of Duty: WW2 is listed as free as well. It seems both these giveaways only apply to Europe, as the US store listing for Mafia 3 still has a $29.99 price tag, while Call Of Duty: WW2 is still going for $59.99.
It’s unclear if this is an error or part of some unannounced promotion, but these offers aren’t available on either Xbox or Steam.
This wouldn’t be the first time Sony has accidentally given away free games. In August last year, a racing game called CarX Street was made free on the store, in what was an error with PS Plus discounts.

Sony later fixed the issue, but it didn’t revoke access for those who took advantage of the brief freebie window.
There’s a chance Sony will revoke access to those who download Mafia 3 or Call Of Duty: WW2, since they’re more expensive, higher profile games, but you might as well take advantage of it for now.
We weren’t exactly fans of Mafia 3, because of its repetitive mission design, but its script is better than most. Call Of Duty: WW2, meanwhile, is a pretty standard entry in the series, but it might be worth your time for an afternoon.
The next Call Of Duty, Modern Warfare 4, is set to launch on October 23 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. It boasts a Korea-focused campaign, smoother traversal, and a modular arena called Kill Block, but we weren’t too impressed by the beta.
As for this month’s PS Plus games, they include F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896, and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2. These are available to claim now until November 2, 2026.
