Christina Ricci has made her disgust at Jimmy Fallon’s interview with Conor McGregor crystal clear.
The late-night talk show host came under fire last week after welcoming the UFC fighter to the sofa and giving him a platform.
The Irish mixed martial artist was found liable in a civil case in November 2024 for the 2018 rape of a woman at a Dublin hotel, and the woman, Nikita Hand, was awarded €248,603 (£206,000) in damages.
He was accused of ‘brutally raping and battering’ the Hand, and a paramedic who attended to her said they had ‘not seen ‘someone so bruised’ in a long time.
At another point during the trial in 2024, medical professional Dr Daniel Kane explained how he had to use forceps to remove the tampon, which had been ‘wedged inside’.
He also said that Hand was ‘shaking and crying’ when he oversaw her, detailing bruising across her face, arms, fingers, forearms, knuckles, legs, lower back, and buttocks.
Since then, his career has remained stable, and he happily sat on Fallon to discuss his big return to UFC and reminisce on his nickname ‘Notorious’, among other anecdotes, much to the outcry of viewers.
Even more galling, after the initial rush of backlash, fans noticed he hadn’t shared any promo for the interview, accusing him of trying to ‘hide’ it.
Now, Christina has joined the chorus of voices calling out the US TV personality for entertaining the likes of Conor, given his dark past.
Taking to her Instagram story, she reposted a statement from another user, mushroom.marauder, that blasted Fallon.
The post read: ‘Conor McGregor raped a woman so brutally that the EMT who saw her commented on the severity of her bruising. She also had to have the tampon she was using when he raped her surgically removed, as it had been shoved so far inside her.
‘Why the absolute f**k is this piece of human garbage being given a platform on Jimmy Fallon’s show?
‘Shame on you Jimmy.’
Christina herself has been on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon in February 2025 to discuss Netflix show Wednesday and Yellowjackets.
Her repost echoes the criticism others have been doling out, such as calling him ‘spineless’ and pathetic’.
The talk show host has yet ot address the controversy publicly.
On the show, the pair seemed very friendly, with Fallon calling McGregor ‘my man’, ‘ one of the best MMA fighters in the world’, and, after reminiscing on going out drinking together, declared: ‘We’ll have to do it again!’
During the sexual assault court case, hundreds showed up in solidarity with Hand and to protest against violence against women.
In a speech after her civil case was a success, Hand said: ‘I want to thank all the women and men out there who have supported me throughout this trial.
‘For every person who reached out to me – a card, a letter, an email, everything – it hasn’t gone unnoticed. Thank you, I really appreciate it so much.’
