It has now been reported that the presenter was found slumped unconscious at home and rushed to hospital.

Katie, who Eamonn has been in a relationship with since his divorce from wife of 14 years Ruth Langsford, wrote on Instagram: ‘What a week. Prayer, prayer each day.’

A source told The Sun: ‘It’s been a terrifying time. Eamonn fell ill at home and those close to him have been worried sick ever since. Fortunately, Eamonn’s on the road to recovery.

‘Katie has been by his side in hospital pretty much all of the time, except to get a change of clothes at home.

What are the symptoms of a stroke?

The main symptoms of a stroke can happen suddenly.

According to the NHS, they may include:

  • Face weakness – one side of your face may droop (fall), and it might be hard to smile
  • Arm weakness – you may not be able to fully lift both arms and keep them there because of weakness or numbness in 1 arm
  • Speech problems – you may slur your words or sound confused

The easiest way to remember these symptoms is the word FAST. This stands for: face, arms, speech and time to call 999.

Alex Armstrong will step in to present in his absence this week.

Taking to Instagram, Ellie posted a photo of the pair with the caption: ‘Thinking of you @eamonnholmes and wishing you a speedy recovery.’

Dad-of-four Eamonn started suffering health woes in 2021 after three slipped discs and a dislocated pelvis.

He began using a wheelchair the following year after undergoing surgery, and is now supported by carers every day.

Eamonn sparked concern when he appeared to fall asleep during an interview with Darren Jones, the Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister, on March 11.

A clip showed the presenter fiddling with his microphone pack before he appeared to zone out and shut his eyes.
