Production has been halted on Netflix’s Wednesday after Eva Green suffered a ‘really nasty’ injury during filming.

The popular Addams Family spin-off show was filming its third season, in which the former Bond girl is set to make her debut.

Eva, 45, is playing Aunt Ophelia Frump, sister to Catherine Zeta-Jones’ Morticia Addams and is billed as a series regular.

While shooting in Dublin, the Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children star had to be rushed to the hospital.

A source told The Sun: ‘This was really nasty. Eva sustained an injury and was clearly in pain and producers were taking no chances.

‘Medics were called and Eva went to hospital. She underwent treatment and is now recovering well.’

Shoots have been rearranged to allow Eva to recover as her character Ophelia, is thought to be a major player in the upcoming season.

Wednesday, played by Jenna Ortega, first discovered Ophelia through her journal, which left her suffering from uncontrollable psychic visions.

At the end of season two, Morticia’s sister was seen from behind scrawling ‘Wednesday must die’ on a wall. Cheerful.

When she was cast, the Casino Royale icon shared: ‘I can’t wait to bring my own touch of cuckoo-ness to the Addams Family. This show is such a deliciously dark and witty world.’

Wednesday has proven to be a winning series for Netflix, with another insider telling The Sun ‘no expense has been spared’.

The budget for Wednesday is said to be a whopping $15million (£11million) per episode, with big names joining the cast.

The second season racked up 50million views and topped the global chart in just the first few days, dropping four episodes at once.

Netflix is aiming for mid to late 2027 for the third season, although no official release date has been announced so far.

Metro has reached out to Netflix and Eva’s reps for comment.
