Jeremy Clarkson has strict rules about who is and isn’t allowed in his pub, with all Labour MPs strictly forbidden.
But it seems one politician is more than welcome, as he was seen enjoying a glass of the famous Hawkstone stout outside The Farmer’s Dog.
On Friday, former Prime Minister David Cameron attended the Hawkstone Harvest Festival in the Cotswolds, which was being filmed for the new series of Clarkson’s Farm.
So, when the sixth season lands on Amazon Prime, keep your eyes peeled for a possible Cameron cameo.
The 59-year-old Conservative, who was PM from 2010 to 2016, even had plenty of praise for Clarkson, who is famously outspoken on issues the farming industry faces and frequently challenges the government.
Speaking to The Sun, Cameron, who retired from frontline politics in 2024, said: ‘Jeremy has done an amazing job at highlighting some of the issues in the countryside.
‘He’s done more for farming than anyone else I can think of in recent years.’
Cameron also lauded the ‘brilliant’ Hawkstone Farmers Choir, which was set up as part of a TV advert and went on to win the latest series of Britain’s Got Talent.
He added that, ‘when they have been on TV, watching them has been incredibly emotional’, as its members speak openly about mental health and raising funds for rural charities.
‘Bringing them together with Groove Armada is, for someone of my age, the perfect combination,’ said Cameron, as the choir performed live alongside 90s music star Andy Cato as part of the festival.
‘It is very clever, and I just want to show my support.’
Elsewhere, Cameron chimed in on the recent Clarkson sheep saga, which left the TV presenter furious after 11 sheep were stolen from his farm.
Police are investigating the late-night raid at Diddly Squat after Clarkson discovered some animals were missing during a flock count.
Describing the incident as ‘shocking’, Cameron added: ‘It sounds, as he said, very old-fashioned sheep rustling, but it is happening, and it is a really serious issue in the countryside.’
While Cameron’s appearance at Clarkson’s pub may seem surprising to some, others may remember that they share a connection.
Earlier this year, the ex-Top Gear host, 66, revealed that he had met up with Cameron to discuss their prostate cancer diagnoses after Clarkson was told he had an ‘aggressive’ form of the disease, which had fortunately been caught early.
Speaking to The Times, Clarkson shared in June: ‘I was talking to David (Cameron) about it earlier this morning. He said the amount of people that come up to him is mostly in public conveniences and say, “If you hadn’t owned up to it, I wouldn’t have got checked”, and they wouldn’t have found it.
‘So now there’s a group of us, (food writer) Giles Coren, David, me, one or two other people, and we meet for lunch every so often.’
He joked that ‘it is quite funny’ knowing people are looking at the unlikely group and wondering, ‘What do they all share in common?’
Cameron revealed in November 2025 that he had been successfully treated for prostate cancer.

Clarkson has banned over 400 people from his pub – yes, really.
These range from political figures to former television co-stars to customers who have complained.
Labour politicians
A total of 404 Labour politicians are banned from The Farmer’s Dog; this includes ex-Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.
Speaking on Times Radio previously, Clarkson revealed: ‘He’s banned. Actually, he’s the first person to be banned. He’s actually on the board in the hall; he’s banned.’
Clarkson prohibited them from enjoying a beer at his boozer in protest against hospitality tax hikes.
But one MP survived the exodus, as Markus Campbell-Savours voted against inheritance tax changes for farmers.
Former co-stars
Despite working together for decades, Clarkson’s former co-star James May is also barred from his pub, but he’s taken it in his stride.
May compared it to ‘being banned from the golf club’, stating that he ‘wasn’t going to go anyway’.
He clarified this is because he actually has his own pub, which he claims Clarkson is not banned from.
‘I think Jeremy doesn’t realise I have my own pub, so if I get any spare time, I tend to go there.’
Additionally, Richard Hammond is on the barred list, previously saying, ‘Jeremy has told me I am already banned from his pub,’ although he wanted to be banned anyway.
Members of the public
As for other unwelcome punters, Clarkson banned Maddy Hornby after she ‘moaned’ about not being able to get Tabasco in her Bloody Mary.
He also enforces a rule where anyone is turned away if they try to bring in a non-locally sourced birthday cake, since the pub is strict on its 100% British-grown ingredient policy.
