Amid fan theories of a new GTA 6 trailer, multiple people seem to have received emails advertising upcoming pre-orders for the game.

Despite Rockstar Games’ continued silence on the matter, there has been rampant speculation that a new GTA 6 trailer would drop this week, with Tuesday being a popular guess. The reasoning was pretty flimsy and, as you can tell, entirely off base.

Even so, GTA 6’s marketing is meant to start this summer, so Rockstar and publisher Take-Two Interactive must be preparing at least one more trailer before the game’s launch.

At the very least, it’s now believed that pre-orders for the game will open as early as next week, thanks to emails sent out by American retailer Best Buy.

The emails in question appear to have been sent to members of Best Buy’s affiliate programme and they specifically mention a GTA 6 pre-order campaign that’s scheduled to run from Monday, May 18 to Thursday, May 21. This is presumably a campaign for the affiliates themselves, as it’s unlikely that pre-orders, even for physical copies, would be limited to just four days.

Multiple people have commented online claiming to have received this email, with several sharing photo or video evidence to prove that the emails all contain the exact same details.

They also specifically mention that the pre-orders are for a ‘physical game,’ corroborating Take-Two’s promise that GTA 6 would release physically after it was rumoured that the game would only launch digitally.

The assumption is that Best Buy has slipped up and sent the emails out early ahead of a formal announcement by Rockstar, which should happen very soon if those dates are accurate.

If pre-orders are indeed scheduled to go live next week, then perhaps Rockstar will have a new trailer alongside them. Last month, fans theorised May would be the month for a new trailer and pre-orders since Take-Two’s next earnings call is scheduled for May 21… and just because it seems way overdue.

There’s never been any real correlation between Take-Two’s earnings calls and GTA 6 info (fans have speculated this before with previous earnings calls and nothing ever came of them) so if any new info does drop this month, it’ll be more likely a happy coincidence.

What is the GTA 6 release date?

After a couple of delays, GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19 this year. That’s assuming it isn’t delayed again, which isn’t outside the realms of possibility, despite Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick’s assurance that it will meet the current date.

The game will only be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, so no last gen versions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and no PC version.

A PC port is certain to happen at some point, probably in the first half of next year, which would follow the same general pattern of GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2.
