Hailey Bieber’s older sister Alaia Baldwin Aronow will reportedly avoid jail after being accused of assaulting three members of staff during a chaotic night out.
The 33-year-old was arrested in Savannah, Georgia, in February 2024 following an incident at Club Elan which allegedly involved hair-pulling, a kick to the groin and a used tampon making contact with a bartender’s face.
Almost two years later, Baldwin was charged with four misdemeanours in January: simple battery, simple assault, battery and criminal trespass.
However, the model and wellness advocate has now accepted an offer to enter a pre-trial diversion programme instead of serving time behind bars, according to documents obtained by TMZ.
Such programmes can include requirements including counselling and community service, while Baldwin has reportedly agreed to cover the cost of participating.
Her lawyers, Drew Findling and Cris Schneider, had previously expressed confidence about the outcome of the case.
‘We remain absolutely confident, there will be a positive resolution,’ they told the Daily Mail in January.
The charges stem from a girls’ trip Baldwin took to Savannah in February 2024 to celebrate a friend’s upcoming wedding.
However, what was supposed to be a celebratory night out took a dramatic turn when the owner of Club Elan reportedly called 911 over Baldwin’s behaviour.
Staff claimed the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin had entered a bathroom designated for employees and was told she could not use it.
She was reportedly directed towards a public bathroom instead, but employees alleged the interaction escalated and Baldwin became combative.
Three members of staff subsequently accused her of assault.
One security guard reportedly told police that Baldwin pulled hair from his head while he attempted to restrain her, while another claimed she kicked him in the groin.
Bartender Haleigh Cauley also gave an account of a particularly unusual confrontation involving a used tampon.
Cauley alleged she encountered Baldwin while attempting to enter the employees’ bathroom, with the tampon ultimately making contact with her face.
She later clarified that Baldwin had not actually let go of it or thrown it across the room; instead, she claimed it remained in Baldwin’s hand and swung upwards, touching her face during the confrontation.
‘I said, “Listen, you guys have got to go,”’ Cauley recalled of the incident, claiming Baldwin had a ‘scary’ expression.
Security eventually intervened, with Baldwin allegedly beginning to swing at guards.
When police arrived, however, Baldwin reportedly offered a very different account of what had happened.
She claimed she had been defending herself and maintained that the confrontation had been blown out of proportion.
According to a police report previously obtained by E!, Baldwin initially denied throwing the tampon before later acknowledging that she had done so.
Her lawyer subsequently addressed the arrest in a statement to TMZ, explaining that Baldwin had travelled to Georgia for a friend’s pre-wedding celebrations.
‘Sadly, what should have been a celebratory girls night out, unfortunately took an unexpected turn,’ the statement read.
Her attorney added that Baldwin was ‘embarrassed and saddened by the events of that night’ and was ‘proactively taking the necessary steps to ensure that it never happens again’.
The case then remained largely quiet until January this year, when prosecutors reportedly filed the four misdemeanour charges.
Baldwin is the eldest daughter of Stephen Baldwin and graphic designer Kennya Baldwin, making her the older sister of model and Rhode founder Hailey Bieber.
The sisters were raised together in New York and have remained close throughout adulthood, with Alaia also serving as a bridesmaid when Hailey married Justin Bieber.
While Hailey has become one of the world’s most recognisable models and beauty entrepreneurs, Alaia has maintained a considerably lower public profile.
She married film producer Andrew Aronow in 2017, with Hailey acting as maid of honour at their wedding.
The couple welcomed daughter Iris in 2020.
