Actor Henry Cavill has officially confirmed that he’s expecting a baby with his partner Natalie Viscuso.

The Justice League star, 40, spoke to reporters at the premiere of his new movie The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare and said that he and Viscuso are excited to become parents.

‘I’m very excited about it. Natalie and I are both very excited about it. I’m sure you’ll see much more of that,’ Cavill told an Access Hollywood reporter when asked about the idea of becoming a father.

When asked whether the depiction of fatherhood in his new film inspired him to become a parent, he responded: ‘I mean, he didn’t inspire me to do that. My parents did.’

Cavill and Viscuso first made their relationship official in 2021 with a post on Instagram.

The Superman star posted a picture of he and Viscuso playing chess with the caption: ‘This is me looking quietly confident shortly before my beautiful and brilliant love, Natalie, destroys me at chess.’

Viscuso previously worked at the production company, Legendary Entertainment, that produced several of Cavill’s films including Enola Holmes and Man of Steel. Many have speculated the pair met while Cavill was filming Enola Holmes.

Viscuso also featured on an episode of My Super Sweet 16 in 2005.

A synopsis for the episode read: ‘At 15 years old, Natalie is now living in a $5million (£3.5m) house and cruising around town in her dad’s Bentleys and Ferraris. What more could she want? How about being the most popular girl at school?’

While the couple’s relationship has remained largely private, Cavill did share a selfie with Viscuso in 2021 along with a plea for fans to stop discussing his love life.

He wrote: ‘I am very happy in love, and in life. I’d be enormously grateful if you were happy with me. If you can’t bring yourself to be happy with me, then at the very least try to do yourself proud and be the best version of yourself.’

Cavill has long wanted to start a family. In 2017, Cavill told Men’s Health magazine that he took his health seriously because of his desire to eventually be a father.

He said: ‘If I ever have kids one day, I want to be the dad who’s running round after them. I want to be a fit and healthy dad, not hobbling round like, “OK, I’m just going to catch a breather.”‘
