While Spain continues the celebrations after beating Argentina in the 2026 World Cup final, Drake is on a losing streak.
The rapper famously loves a sporting bet, having thrown his millions behind numerous teams and athletes over the years.

Real name Aubrey Drake Graham, the 39-year-old Canadian star placed a whopping $1.5million (£1.1m) bet on Lionel Scaloni’s Argentina squad to lift the FIFA World Cup trophy in either normal or extra time, which, of course, didn’t work in their favour, as the players were defeated 1-0 in those additional minutes.
If the South American team did emerge victorious over the weekend, Drake would’ve had a payout of more than $5.1m (£3.8m).
So, as Drake’s gambling record takes another nasty hit, just how much of his reported $400m (£297m) net worth has he lost?

We reckon it’s time for Drake to take a different approach, because, as it stands, he’s lost 56 of the 88 bets he’s placed on 10 different sports.

In total, Drake has wagered $40.22m (£30m) but received $37.17m (£28m) back, meaning he’s officially in the red.
Basically, if this were a Hollywood blockbuster, he wouldn’t be making his budget back.
Reportedly one of the richest rappers in the world, the five-time Grammy winner’s average bet size is $457.06k (£340k), but can you guess his most profitable sport? No, it’s not football.
It’s actually cricket, which has won him $997.50k (£741k), while footie accounts for his most losses at a minus $3.17m (£2.3m).
As for his largest ever return, this came in May 2022 when he won over $2.7m (£2m) on basketball.
Well, at least he has four years to work on his strategy now before the next World Cup tournament.
In the meantime, we’re sure he’ll continue betting on Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which is his most popular. He’s splashed out $14.45m (£10.8m) across 26 bets.
That being said, his Argentina loss comes mere days after he lost a million-dollar wager on Irish fighter Conor McGregor winning his UFC bout against Max Holloway.
Sharing a screenshot of his betting slip on Instagram ahead of McGregor’s return to the Octagon, Drake revealed that he backed him at +185 odds.
He, therefore, would’ve had a $2.85m (£2.1m) payout had ‘The Notorious’ triumphed.

Unfortunately for both the One Dance hitmaker and Irish professional mixed martial artist, though, it wasn’t to be, and the curse struck hard yet again.
His followers predicted it, of course, commenting, ‘we all know what this means’ after his bet was announced.

What has Drake said about his betting ‘curse’?
Last May, Drake was finally asked about the alleged curse in a mock interview shared on social media as part of his partnership with Stake.
‘I feel like I don’t play sports, whether I picked the wrong team or not; if I could get out there and win for all your favourite teams, I would,’ he said.
‘The Drake curse is funny to me,’ he added, suggesting it’s totally nonexistent since the Toronto Raptors won their first NBA championship in 2019. Drake was vocal with his support for them at the time, even having his own custom, 30-carat ring made as a replica of the team’s celebratory jewellery.
