David Haye has caught heat once again for comments in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! South Africa. This time, about his girlfriend.
The boxing champ reentered camp for its second All Stars series, 14 years on from his original stint, in which he finished third.
David, 45, joins the likes of Gemma Collins, Sir Mo Farah, Seann Walsh, Ashley Roberts, Craig Charles, Beverley Callard, and Harry Redknapp in the lineup and has already proven a divisive character among viewers.
In the latest first-look clip ahead of Monday night’s episode, the athlete is seen discussing his relationship with girlfriend Sian Osborne, whom he’s been dating since 2020.
Telling Pussycat Doll Ashley and Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt that it would be ‘good to get everyone together’ after the show ends, David initially praised his other half for her culinary talents.

‘She can cook for, like, 60 people. We have these parties in Costa Rica every week,’ he said.
‘Who is this woman? She’s unbelievable!’, Ashley praised.
Asked by pop star Sinitta if his girlfriend is Costa Rican, David replied: ‘No, she’s not Costa Rican. She’s, like, tall, blue eyes…’
‘She sounds like she’s drop-dead gorgeous,’ complimented the So Macho hitmaker, prompting David to dig himself into a hole.
After calling her ‘lovely’, he added of Sian: ‘She’s got the personality of a proper ugly bird.’
Scarlett quickly scolded him, declaring, ‘You can’t say that, David!’, but he doubled down.
‘Why? No, she has, honestly. Most ugly girls realise they’ve gotta have a personality and the banter to tell jokes and s**t, so people overlook the fact that they’re not aesthetically amazing straight away.’
‘It’s called Ugly Duckling Syndrome,’ he told his campmates, who listened in shock. ‘Where girls are ugly when they start off, then they get pretty as they get older, but they’ve still got the personality of when they were ugly.’
The clip ended with Ashley sighing, ‘Dear God,’ while Scarlett only laughed at the awkwardness.
And once the video was shared on social media, I’m A Celeb viewers were quick to put David in his place – as were some famous faces.
‘So disrespectful to talk about girls this way,’ commented Jedward.
‘Erghhhhhhhhhhhhh’, wrote Towie’s Saffron Lempriere.
Loose Women panelist Denise Welch went one step further, writing in her scathing comment: ‘I’ve been away so only seen clips but how did David Haye get invited back as an “All Star”??? Was he not a complete k**b the first time round??’
As for the public, they lauded his ‘stunningly beautiful’ girlfriend, insisting that she ‘deserves better’.
‘David, listen to yourself and think about what you are saying about women. Sian, rethink your relationship with someone who thinks of you and speaks about you like that. David, do better’, wrote @toffeeloubears.
‘He is the kind of guy that gives men a bad name!’, said @jintylight.
‘David Haye’s vile behaviour exposes I’m A Celebrity’s fatal flaw,’ writes Adam Miller
‘[David] quickly expressed his total lack of respect for anyone he believes won’t be winning as many stars as possible. For him, being a reliable star winner is subject to physical strength, which is often completely irrelevant on the show.
‘Unlike the main series, the South Africa spin-off is pre-recorded. The celebs are able to watch themselves back with the rest of the public and view their actions from the same perspective as viewers.
‘But it means we have absolutely no power to punish him with relentless voting for a Bushtucker Trial – sending a direct message: we’ve seen how you’ve disregarded such a wonderful human being, and this is how we feel about it.
‘Now eat a cow’s anus.’

‘Disgusting behaviour from David Haye how dare he say that about a woman…’, raged @emowen_x.
This isn’t the first time David’s love life has become a topic of discussion in the South African camp.
Previously, his so-called ‘throuple’ with The Saturdays pop star Una Healy was brought up in a gossip session by the GC, with Ant and Dec also jumping at the chance to make jokes about the pop culture moment, after which Una denied a romantic entanglement with Sian.
‘Tell you what, it must be busy round David Haye’s house – him and his two girlfriends,’ Dec quipped during a link.
Ant added: ‘Don’t forget that bloke in his bedroom as well – every night he shouts in the microphone, “Let’s get ready to throuple!”‘
Despite this, it was said ahead of the launch that David would not be discussing details of his romances on camera, with a source claiming producers were ‘desperate’ for him to speak candidly about his relationships.
Do you think David should’ve remained in I’m A Celeb?
-
Yes, he’s entertaining
-
No, producers should’ve removed him
‘However, he decided he did not want to talk about his private life,’ they said, although this clearly didn’t matter when he was discussing ‘Ugly Duckling Syndrome’.
To say David has ruffled feathers among viewers would be an understatement, as he’s been called out repeatedly for ‘attitude’ problems.
This has included debating which fellow campmates are ‘dead weight’ and asking of Corrie actress Beverley: ‘What value is she adding?’
Disgusted, X users demanded that he be ‘booted’, asking: ‘Is David for real?’
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! South Africa continues weeknights at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
