TV presenter Lisa Faulkner has shared her gratitude to fans after opening up about her breast cancer diagnosis earlier this week.

The Celebrity MasterChef star, 54, who is married to TV chef John Torode, took to Instagram to reveal that she received the diagnosis after a routine mammogram.

Since then, she has undergone a ‘big operation’ and will now have radiotherapy.

‘I just wanted to say I’ve got a bit of healing to do, but I’m good. I’m well and feeling so much better…’ she added in her message to her followers.

Plenty of famous faces also shared their support for the former EastEnders star, including Amanda Holden, Danny Dyer, Ruth Langsford and Denise Welch.

‘I’m so glad you’ve shared this my angel. It will inspire and help so many people you’ve got this and we all love and adore you,’ Amanda commented at the time.

Elsewhere, stars like Dermot O’Leary and Holly Willoughby also ‘sent their love’. And breast cancer charities praised Lisa for talking about her experience, especially as it will encourage more women to attend their routine mammogram appointments.

Now, after an outpouring of support, Lisa has posted a new story on Instagram with an update.

She wrote: ‘Thank you for all your support and lovely messages. I promised I will read every word.

‘So many of you going through this or know someone who is. Your love and kindness has really touched me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.’

Previously, she explained why she had been so quiet on social media as of late.

‘I had surgery two weeks ago, it was quite a big op but it’s all good and I’ve my results back and they’ve got everything out.

‘So it’s all clear and I just need now to have some radiotherapy in a few weeks,’ she revealed.

Lisa started off her screen career as an actor in shows like Holby City and The Girl Before, until she pivoted to hosting after winning Celebrity MasterChef in 2010.

She’s presented shows like Channel 4 series What’s Cooking and  John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen alongside her husband.
