Keanu Reeves’ Girlfriend Alexandra Grant Shares Rare Insight Into Their Private Relationship

Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant may keep their romance out of the spotlight, but the artist is now offering a rare glimpse into what life with the beloved actor is really like.

While attending the launch event for her new wine brand, LOVEwine, in Los Angeles on Thursday, May 28, Grant, 53, opened up about how she and Reeves, 61, balance their creative lives and support one another behind the scenes.

Grant Opens Up About Their Relationship

The couple, who first went public with their relationship in 2019, are known for staying private.

But during the event, Grant shared details with People about how the pair navigate giving feedback on each other’s work and respecting creative boundaries.

“He’s always so appreciative, so he’s always cautious, I think, with feedback, and I would say the same,” Grant said of Reeves and whether they step into one another’s creative spaces.

The visual artist explained that mutual respect plays a major role in their relationship — especially when it comes to work.

“You want to always be respectful and leave the other person to bake their cake,” she said. “Just talking about my love makes me sweat.”

Grant also revealed that while she and the “John Wick” star are always there for one another, they understand the importance of individual creative time.

“I would say that there is all the listening in the world that we know that we could talk about any problem or challenge or creative idea and talk about it forever if that is needed, and also respect the individual need to dive deep and have a process that’s maybe quiet or in another collaboration,” she explained.

For Grant, that balance of support and independence seems to be one of the secrets to their long-lasting relationship.

“So I’d say the key to it is the mutual respect and also just like, come on, it’s play, right? It’s play that we get to play creatively,” she continued.

Grant Commented on Living With Reeves

She also joked about what it has been like dating an actor known for some of Hollywood’s most iconic roles.

“The last thing I will say that I think we share is just the belief in projects,” Grant said. “Every project has its own autonomy, its own team, it has its own sort of rules, and it has a beginning, middle and end. So we both are people who do projects, and you know, I’ve lived with John Wick, I’ve lived with Neo.”

Reeves famously stars as John Wick in the action franchise and played Neo in The Matrix films — roles Grant says she respects when he’s immersed in them.

“When he’s in a character, for example, I have so much respect for that understanding that this is the middle to the end of a project, right?” she shared. “And I think the same goes for painting. When I’m in painter mode, I am in it. I’m fully in it, and it’s not playing a character, but it is performing, you know, painting really is a form of performance too.”

Grant and Reeves’ love story actually began professionally.

The pair first collaborated on the 2011 book “Ode to Happiness,” which Reeves wrote and Grant illustrated.

They later co-founded a publishing company together before quietly transitioning into a romance.

Though the pair rarely speak publicly about their relationship, Grant hasn’t shied away from shutting down false rumors.

In September 2025, she addressed speculation that the two had secretly tied the knot after sharing a photo of them kissing.

“This is a real photo,” Grant wrote on Instagram. “Not an engagement photo or an AI wedding announcement… simply a kiss!”
