After an uncomfortable exchange on the red carpet, Lana Del Rey has unwittingly sparked rumours of a fall out with one of her close friends.

Lana looked ethereal in a skin coloured gown covered in branches at 2024 Met Gala as she rubbed shoulders with Hollywood’s elite for The Garden of Time themed evening.

The 38-year-old singer took the opportunity to announce her first ever gig at Boston’s Fenway Park but fans were a little distracted by the possible spat.

Fans of Video Games hitmaker believe she may have beef with Taylor Swift after antics at the fashion event in New York where she posed with Kim Kardashian.

Although she is thought to be a good friend of Taylor, Lana also struggled to name a song off The Tortured Poets Department.

While speaking to Entertainment Tonight, she was asked what her favourite track on the new 31 song album is despite Taylor not attending the Met Gala.

‘It’s the one uhh, “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me,”‘ she struggled over as she replied, before adding: ‘Whatever that title was.’

The interaction, mixed with her posing with a teeny tiny waisted Kim, who Taylor very publicly called out in her track thanK you aIMee.

On top of this, Lana reportedly no longer follows her friend on Instagram as of a few months ago.

She and Taylor had worked together on a song for Midnights and even did a second version after fans begged for ‘more Lana’ on Snow on the Beach.

The pair joined forces as the Summertime Sadness singer attended the Grammys with the Black Dog hitmaker, even coming on stage with her to accept awards.

‘Lana and Taylor definitely beefing,’ speculated Bianca on X as Honeymoun added: ‘Her ass did not listen to that album.’

‘Lana hanging out with Kim at the Met gala felt like a diss at Taylor especially after she unfollowed her 👀,’ wrote Maddy.

Christian joked: ‘Both the interviewer and Lana having approximate knowledge about Taylor’s discography is kinda hilarious.’

Others were furious at the interviewer for being ‘ill-prepared’ and not asking about Lana’s upcoming album or huge stadium announcement instead.

They also bizarrely told the singer she should ‘collab’ with Taylor as the interview finished — something which the duo famously have already done.

Alexa asked: ‘Why is THEE Lana Del Rey being asked what her favourite Taylor Swift song is at a fashion exhibition… Could’ve asked anything, and they chose to ask about another artist who didn’t even attend the event.’

‘Who hired these interviewers?? Lana has an album releasing later this year, just headlined the biggest festival in the world and all you can ask her is about Taylor. So redundant,’ scathed user the Scarlet Surprise.

‘You guys should probably fire that interviewer because out of all questions to ask Lana, you reduced her to “Taylors Friend” in asking her about another celebrity, what an uncultured direction,’ said viewordaa.

Many lamented a wider issue of interviews being dominated by ‘headline grabbing’ attempts to mention Taylor, such as with Pet Shop Boys or other artist recently.

Criss Topher concluded: ‘This behaviour from interviewers is why non-fans get so mad about Taylor being in their face all the time.’

We may never know if there’s actually any bad blood here but regardless, Lana was one of the few who nailed the Met Gala theme and looked utterly gorgeous doing so.
