Martin Lewis has announced that his ITV show, The Martin Lewis Money Show Live, will be returning for a one off special this summer.

The news of the show’s return has been met with relief from fans who insisted that the gap between season 13 in March and the next season in October was too long.

The 51-year old financial expert revealed that after ‘many’ viewers took their complaints to ITV, the broadcaster decided to U-turn on their hiatus decision and bring the programme back in just a couple of months.

Martin announced on X: ‘When I announced that the @itvMLshow series was ending and we wouldn’t be back until October, many of you complained that was too long for the show to be off air in the current environment.

‘Thank you. I put those to ITV. And we’ve now got a one off catch up special in June :)’

The Bafta-nominated show has been on since 2012, and is hosted by the financial journalist and broadcaster who explains to viewers how they can make their money go further.

From tricks on how to get £15 a month for free, to warnings about ISAs, the show teaches people how to be savvy in today’s financial market.

Fans were elated and took to social media to share their joy that the show would be returning.

@jaybrwhite93 commented: ‘That’s great news! So many people have been struggling with difficult financial situation; your show allows us all to make the necessary changes or checks to make life that bit easier 👌🏼. I for one, take notes of your shows for future preparation! You’re a swell guy 👏🏻’

@Bernade64691346 said: ‘Great news Martin. I’ll keep my eyes peeled. Just love your shows as you help so many people. Keep on doing your thing as in the words of the song Nobody does it better! 👏👏⭐️’

Others weren’t certain whether this one off special would be enough, and many insisted they needed more advice from the money expert in the coming months given the economic climate.

@JaneKesseru commented: ‘You really need to be on every week or at least fortnightly. There is so much going on, your advice helps us navigate through it all.’

@susiefos added: ‘We need the truth and you help us to sort things out Feel as though our life raft has been cut and floating away. So sad that there is only one program at such an important time.’

At present, the UK is still in a cost of living crisis and many families are struggling to afford basic necessities. Although National Insurance has been cut by 2p, many believe that Jeremy Hunt’s Spring Budget has not done enough to combat the financial hardship felt by many across the UK.

The Martin Lewis Show Live returns to ITV in June.
