You can try out Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls for free this week, so here are all the details on when to jump in.
Ahead of its launch on August 6, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is getting one final beta to stress test the servers.
Developed by Guilty Gear creators Arc System Works and published by Sony, the upcoming 4v4 Marvel fighter is a new alternative to the classic Marvel Vs. Capcom series – albeit without the Capcom characters and with mechanics borrowed from Guilty Gear Strive.
There have been several closed betas over the past year, but Sony is opening the doors to everyone with another beta later this week. If you’re looking to give it a shot, or polish up your skills before launch, you can find all the details below.
What time does the Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls open beta start?
The open beta kicks off on Friday, July 24 at 8am BST in the UK. It will run for 72 hours, until Monday, July 27 at 7.59am.

How can I get access?
As the name implies, the open beta is free to everyone across PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. You don’t have to sign up for anything either, although you will need to have a PlayStation account.
You’ll be able to download the open beta from the respective platform’s store, with pre-downloads available two hours before the open beta goes live. In other words, the beta should be available to download from Friday, July 24 at 6am in the UK.
What characters are in the Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls beta?
There will be 15 playable characters in the beta, with the full game set to launch with 20 characters – so it’s a generous chunk.
You’ll also be able to fight across six stages, namely Marvel’s New York (Day), Savage Land, X-Mansion, Knowhere, Wakanda, and Marvel’s New York (Night).
