Matty Healy marries model girlfriend Gabbriette Bechtel weeks after ex Taylor Swift’s wedding

The 1975 frontman, Matty Healy, has married his model girlfriend Gabbriette Bechtel in a star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles.

They tied the knot weeks after his ex, Taylor Swift, got married at Madison Square Garden with 1,000 guests in attendance.

Son of Denise Welch Matty got hitched at Castillo del Lago, a residence previously owned by Madonna, on Saturday evening.

An insider told the Daily Mail that the couple exchanged vows underneath the Hollywood sign as the sun started to set.

They noted that Gabbriette, 28, wore ‘a beautiful white dress’ and they ‘kissed at exactly 7 o’clock’.

The 37-year-old groom wore a black tuxedo and got on stage with his bandmates after the reception to perform for the guests.

Those in attendance included Charli xcx, Emily Ratajkowski and Alex Consani.

Gabbriette and Matty are said to be ‘absolutely in love with each other’ and ‘work really well together’, according to a separate source who spoke to the publication.

They said: ‘The right person came along that made him want to settle down.

‘It’s not surprising – they’re such a good fit that it makes sense.’

In photos obtained by the outlet, the model wore a dress with long sleeves, a fitted bodice and a long train that trailed behind her – she also wore a veil for the occasion.

The couple had a rehearsal dinner at the Rainbow Bar and Grill in West Hollywood on Friday.

Earlier this month, a source told The Sun that the do would be ‘far glitzier’ than fans expected. They said: ‘It’s bigger than they were first planning but they’ve been trying to keep details under wraps’.

The publication also reported that the A-list couple paid more than £100,000 to fly their family and friends out to California for the wedding.

Matty held a stag do last weekend, watching England play Norway in the World Cup quarter finals, before hosting another party with his bandmates earlier this week.

Gabbriette went all out for a Las Vegas bachelorette party, and was seen being lifted onto a private plane by a stripper policeman in short shorts, with her hands cuffed behind her back.

Matty and Taylor had a short romance in 2023 and met their now-spouses months after calling it off.

He proposed to Gabbriette nine months after meeting, with Denise confirming the news on Loose Women.
