Harlan Coben is back at it. With the rate he cranks out novels and then they’re adapted to the screen, he must never not be at it.

Another of the prolific author’s thrillers is just hours away from dropping on Netflix, no doubt promising more compulsive viewing that is really a bit batty if you think about it for too long.

I Will Find You is the follow-up to the likes of Fool Me Once and Missing You, both of which dominated the Netflix top 10 TV ranking when they were released.

This latest eight-parter, which is an adaptation of his 2023 thriller and drops Thursday, features Coben staples like family secrets, jaw-dropping reveals and a good old-fashioned mystery.

The drama revolves around David Burroughs (Sam Worthington), who is serving a life sentence behind bars for the murder of his son.

Except – he didn’t do it. There is a conspiracy afoot, as he begins to piece together, after a visit from his sister-in-law Rachel (Severance’s Britt Lower), who is also an investigative journalist.

She presents David with evidence that his son might still be alive. All he needs to do is break out of prison, Shawshank-style (maybe), and the chase is on for justice and the truth.

Another famous face in the cast is Gilmore Girls’ Milo Ventimiglia, who plays Rachel’s ex-boyfriend-turned-confidant Hayden.

Coben described it as a ‘dream team of talent’ in an interview with Netflix’s Tudum, while showrunner Robert Hull said the cast was ‘nothing short of phenomenal’.

He added: ‘Any one of these incredible artists would be a dream on their own.

‘The fact we’ve somehow drawn them all in is a testament to the power of Harlan’s storytelling and the incredible support of everyone at Netflix. I cannot wait to watch them bring these roles to life.’

The show hasn’t dropped yet, so first reactions are thin on the ground, but if you loved the past Coben adaptations on Netflix, this will no doubt be more of the same.

The Guardian described I Will Find You as ‘another daft, formulaic, weirdly gripping case in point’ of the Coben adaptations. Hello, back-handed compliment!

I Will Find You will be available to stream on Netflix from Thursday, June 18.
