Two 15-year-old girls riding an e-bike were injured, one critically, in a crash Tuesday night in suburban Libertyville.
Around 9:10 p.m., a man driving a gray Chevrolet Blazer had a green light as he drove north past the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Winchester Road when he hit an electronic bike that was crossing Milwaukee Avenue just north of the intersection, Libertyville police said.
Both girls aboard the e-bike were taken to the Advocate Condell Medical Center, where one of them was transferred to Lurie Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said.
The crash is being investigated by the Libertyville Police Department and the Lake County major crash assistance team.
