He opened up to the viewers during the show about serious family issues happening back home, which made the competition harder than expected.
Noah Erb Opened Up About His Momâs Health Battle During Filming
Noah Erb first hinted at his situation during Episode 3 of the show. He told cameras he had âreal-life problems back homeâ but tried to stay focused by keeping busy, as TV Insider reported.
âSo today, I actually found out some bad news,â Noah Erb said during broadcast in a confession. âI donât want to talk too much about it⦠building helps me get my mind off of it.â
GettyNoah later shared more details in the finale. He revealed that his mother, Mary, was battling chronic lymphocytic leukemia, also known as CLL. According to Leukemia Research Foundation, CLL is a type of cancer that affects blood and bone marrow and usually progresses slowly.
Despite her condition, Noah said his mom encouraged him to stay on the show. âShe raised us to where we finish a job we started,â he said. âOnce she told me sheâs proud of me and wants me to see it through, who am I to leave?â
Noah made it clear that his motivation shifted during filming. âThis is about Mom,â he said. âI donât even know if sheâll be around to watch this.â
Noah Erb Says His Mom Inspired Him to Win the Show
According to Bachelor Nation, Noah Erb seriously considered leaving the show after learning more about his momâs condition. He said he read medical reports himself and realized how serious things were.
âI debated going home,â Noah said on the Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour podcast.
Noah said his mom pushed him to stay and compete. âShe was like, âWin the show, you can win the show,ââ he recalled. That moment changed his mindset. âIâm like, dude Iâm gonna win this show,â he added.
After filming wrapped, Noah returned home and spent time caring for his mom. He also shared that he brought the prize money home to help support her.
âI got to take care of her, and it was a beautiful moment,â Noah said in an interview with Bachelor Happy Hour: Golden Hour podcast. He explained that he used the money to help her order treatments and anything she needed.
His mother died in October 2025. He shared the news in an emotional Instagram post, writing, âIâve never met someone quite like you⦠you were my soft spot.â
Back on the show, Noah reflected on his win and everything he went through. âI wanted to make my mom proud,â he said in the finale. âI did not expect to win⦠Iâm the happiest man alive.â
Noah first appeared on Season 16 of The Bachelorette and later joined Bachelor in Paradise. His latest win adds a new chapter to his story, but fans now see that the journey meant much more than just a title.
