One dead after rock band Buckcherry’s tour bus involved in crash

Rock band Buckcherry’s tour bus was involved in a fatal crash that killed one person.

The group, who was travelling through South Carolina early on Friday morning, was involved in a collision on Interstate 26 near Spartanburg, according to reports.

One person died after getting out of their vehicle following the incident on the road ahead of the band’s bus.

However, no members of the group – whose current line-up includes singer Josh Todd, guitarists Stevie Dacanay and Billy Rowe, bassist Kelly LeMieux and drummer Francis Ruiz – were injured.

In a statement, the band said: ‘Tragically, authorities have confirmed that the collision that occurred ahead of our bus resulted in a fatality.

‘Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the family and loved ones of the person who lost their life.’

It still remains unclear how exactly the band’s tour bus became involved in the multi-vehicle collision.

This comes after Buckcherry performed at The Orange Peel in Asheville, North Carolina, on Thursday night.

They then began to travel south, around 70 miles from Spartanburg County, when the fatal crash took place.

Despite the incident, Buckcherry’s scheduled show in Fort Lauderdale still went ahead as planned.

No other changes were also announced to the band’s upcoming tour dates

The group are currently on their Roar Like Thunder tour after they released their latest studio album in 2025.

Buckcherry first formed in Anaheim, California, in 1995 and became one of the best-known American hard rock acts of the late 1990s and 2000s.

After releasing their self-titled debut album in 1999 and Time Bomb in 2001, the group briefly split before frontman Josh Todd and guitarist Keith Nelson revived the band in 2005 with a new line-up.

Their 2006 comeback album, 15, produced their biggest hits, including Crazy Bitch and Sorry.

The band have continued recording and touring in the years since, releasing a string of albums including Black Butterfly, All Night Long, Confessions, Warpaint, Hellbound and Vol. 10.

Their latest record, Roar Like Thunder, arrived last year as the band continued their long-running career on the road.
