Renée Zellweger’s relationship with British car aficionado and TV personality Ant Anstead is still going strong after five years, but you wouldn’t know it from her social media or red carpet appearances. The notoriously private Oscar winner doesn’t feature Anstead on her Instagram account, and they rarely pose together at movie premieres or Hollywood events.
But Anstead — who was briefly married to HGTV star Christina Haack, with whom he shares six-year-old son Hudson — periodically posts about his relationship with the “Bridget Jones’ Diary” star. And if there was any question about whether the two were still together, he cleared that right up on April 23, 2026, in a sweet post honoring their fifth anniversary together.

Anstead and Zellweger met in 2021, when she was a guest on his Discovery+ show, “Celebrity IOU: Joyride” (a spinoff of the HGTV show “Celebrity IOU” starring and produced by Property Brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott).
In the episode that Zellweger appeared in, she worked with Anstead and his co-star, Cristy Lee, to beautifully refurbish cars for Jerome and Jerald, twin brothers who cared for Zellweger’s friend and former publicist, Nanci Ryder, from the time she was diagnosed with ALS in 2014 until she died in 2020, per People.
On April 23, Anstead posted a throwback pic of his and Zellweger’s on-set meet-cute moment and sweetly captioned the photo, “How it started … Happy FIVE YEAR anniversary my beautiful lady! Hands down The best human I know! Luckiest boy! I love you my Ren ð«â¤ï¸ x”
When Drew Scott left two red hearts in the comment section, Anstead replied, “ahhh the matchmakerâ¦. lol (I owe you a beer) â¤ï¸ x”
Fans were thrilled to see confirmation that Zellweger and Anstead are still together, including one who commented, “Aw love this, you’re so private about your relationship, which is how it should be imo, but wee posts like this are great. Happy anniversary to you both â¤ï¸”
Another fan wrote, “Happy 5 year anniversary!! So crazyâ¦. This seems like yesterday when you met!! So happy for you! You two are just amazing together â¤ï¸”
Renée Zellweger Has a Connection With All 3 of Ant Anstead’s Kids
After Anstead and Zellweger dated for a few months, they went Instagram official in September 2021 on his account. Though she spent a good deal of time with Hudson, it wasn’t until January 2022 that she met Anstead’s older kids — daughter Amelie, now 22, and son Archie, 18, who have primarily lived in England with their mom, Anstead’s first wife, Louise Storey.
Anstead told People after their first meeting the time, “It was great. I mean, Renée’s so personable, and so great with people, and they’ve met a few times on FaceTime, so everybody was excited to finally get together. Of course, everybody got on famously. It’s really nice.”
Three years later, in January 2025, Archie and Amelie accompanied their dad to the “Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy” premiere in London and posed with him on the red carpet. Though Anstead did not pose with Zellweger for pics, he gushed about her performance and called her “the missus” in his post about the night.
That same month, her “Bridget Jones” co-star Hugh Grant interviewed her for Vogue, during which she made a rare comment about her relationship. When Grant asked why she lives in Southern California, she replied, “Because thatâs where my fellow lives, and his little boy.”
Haack, meanwhile, has given high marks to Zellweger. In January 2025, she told Us Weekly that although she doesn’t see the actress regularly, she makes a great bonus mom for Hudson.
“Itâs mostly just on the soccer field or at drop-off, but sheâs super nice,” Haack said. “She loves Hudson, and Hudson loves her. And she and Ant are happy.”
