A police officer has been dismissed after cruelly mocking Katie Price’s son, Harvey, it has been reported.
Sergeant Natalie Dolan of Greater Manchester Police was subject to a four-day hearing following complaints made regarding her conduct.
Dolan, who was responsible for training student officers, was cleared of allegations involving racism and sexism – although a panel concluded that WhatsApp messages regarding disability and colleagues constituted professional misconduct.
Two specific messages were highlighted which targeted disabled people, suggesting that new recruits were so incompetent they ‘need to be read to like Harvey Price.’
The panel ruled that Dolan’s language – which also included the slur ‘sp*ckers’ – was both ‘discriminatory’ and ‘mocking of disabled people.’
Dolan was subsequently dismissed from the force for her behaviour.
Following the verdict, Katie took to Facebook, where she wrote: ‘I will do everything and anything to stop this disgusting behaviour from professionals mocking and making disgusting remarks about my Son!!’
Hashtags accompanying the post included ‘disgusting,’ ‘this is not OK’, and ‘if you can be anything, be kind.’
According to Daily Mail, the panel found 23 messages containing ‘disparaging or offensive’ comments about Dolan’s fellow officers and four explicitly targeting those she was training.
She is also said to have previously described Chief Constable Stephen Watson as an ‘ar*e,’ and described recruits as ‘lickers.’
Dolan’s counsel attempted to argue that ‘licker’ was a typo for ‘a**e licker,’ and not ableist, and that the Harvey ‘joke’ was based on a social media GIF.
However, these defences were dismissed by the panel.
Born in 2002, Harvey is the son of former glamour model Katie and footballer Dwight Yorke.
Dwight, 54, initially denied paternity and demanded a DNA test, which came back positive.
In a recent interview, Katie claimed that the football ace has summarily rejected invites to see his son ‘every year.’
On the podcast Life Stories by Lewis Nicholls, Katie said: ‘Every year, my mum contacts his manager, “Do you want to see Harvey for his birthday? Do you want to see him for Christmas?”
‘It’s always the same answer, just not interested.’
The 23-year-old is autistic and partially blind due to septo-optic dysplasia, which affects the optic nerve.
He also has a rare genetic disorder called Prader-Willi syndrome, symptoms of which include a permanent feeling of hunger that can lead to obesity.
In March, Katie spoke of her fears that Harvey might ‘die of a heart attack’ without medical intervention.
Speaking to her sister Sophie on podcast The Katie Price Show, she said: ‘When he sleeps, I worry because he’s snoring and wheezing.’
‘Then sometimes he holds his breath, and I’m like … He’s massive, Sophie. He’s just getting bigger, and he’ll end up dying of a heart attack.’
She went on to describe how doctors had told her that his weight makes him ‘prone to a heart attack.’
‘I just feel so bad, so I’m going to have to do something. I mean, I’m not going to inject him myself because that’s not medically right to do for him. But something needs to be done.’
Earlier this year, Katie’s new husband, Lee Andrews, revealed that he’d got a tattoo of Harvey’s name… despite the fact they’d never met.
Sporting the fresh ink on his hand, Dubai businessman Lee wears Harvey’s name next to a drawing of the youth’s favourite animal.
He also showed off a photo of a drawing that Harvey had made for him – which portrayed Katie and Lee as frogs and referred to Lee as ‘Daddy’.
Captioning the post, Lee wrote: ‘Harvey’s beautiful picture for me and his mummy. Aww Daddy Lee x Cute. If you love your wife your love their children [sic].’
