Sinbad is officially stepping back into the spotlight—marking a powerful milestone more than five years after suffering a stroke.

The 69-year-old comedian shared the update in a video posted to Instagram on Wednesday, April 29, revealing that he’s ready to return to stand-up, even as he continues his recovery journey.

Sinbad’s Heartwarming Statement

“I can’t walk. Since the stroke in 2020, I have not been on stage. I’m gonna get my feet wet April 29 and May 10 at the Comedy Ice House in Pasadena, California. It’s just the beginning of me coming back,” he said. “I’m so looking forward to these shows. I got so much stuff to talk about. I’m gonna be talking more trash than I ever talked.”

The performances will take place at the iconic Ice House Comedy Club, signaling a meaningful first step back into live comedy for the beloved entertainer.

In a touching twist, Sinbad also revealed that his daughter, Paige, will be opening for him—marking the first time the two will perform together professionally.

“I’m looking forward to this because she talks more trash than I talk,” he joked.

He didn’t forget to acknowledge the support that’s helped him reach this point.

“I thank you for all the prayers that people prayed for me,” he said. “It worked.”

Alongside the video, Sinbad reflected on the emotional significance of the moment, writing, “Some moments you don’t rush. You just wait until they’re ready. Tonight is one of those moments. I’m coming back to the stage — and I’m bringing family with me.”

Fans React to the Exciting News

Fans and fellow celebrities quickly flooded the comments with support and excitement. Raven-Symoné wrote, “SO READY!” while Steve Harvey added, “A LIVING LEGEND ….. PERIOD.”

Others shared heartfelt messages, celebrating his resilience and long-awaited return. “Heeery Sinbad. Welcome back! Have fun. Sending you lots of love & a big hug,” one fan wrote, while another added, “Wow I’ve been thinking about you bro and praying for you … what a long haul you’ve been through.”

Paige also took to social media to reflect on the milestone, sharing just how meaningful the moment is for their family.

“Tonight, I’m opening for the man, the myth, the legend himself. My daddy makes his return back to the stage at the legendary Ice House,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories. “This is bigger than I can fully comprehend.”

She added, “Since starting comedy, my dad has only been able to watch me perform twice. Mainly due to the fact that MOST clubs are not ADA accessible so he literally can’t get in there. It’s been heartbreaking to be on this journey without my biggest cheerleader so when I say tonight is special — it’s a moment I will NEVER forget and ALWAYS cherish.”

Sinbad Suffered a Stroke in 2020

Sinbad’s return comes after a long and difficult recovery following his October 2020 stroke.

In 2022, his family shared that the medical emergency was caused by a blood clot traveling from his heart to his brain.

Despite the challenges, Sinbad has remained determined to return to the work he loves.

Before stepping back into stand-up, he made his acting comeback in “Straw,”signaling that he was gradually finding his way back into the industry.

Now, with his first live shows on the horizon, Sinbad’s comeback is not just about comedy—it’s about perseverance, gratitude, and the power of community support.
