A person and a dog have died following a fire that started in a car and spread to a garage Thursday morning on the Northwest Side.
Chicago police and fire officials responded to a car fire around 5:50 a.m. in the 5800 block of North Louise Avenue and removed a person who had suffered burns, police and fire officials said.
The person, only identified as a male, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
A dog also died in the blaze, a Chicago Fire Department spokesperson said.
The fire department was investigating the incident.
