Mary Rivera, who is known for having a memorable role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, has died at the age of 82.
The actress, who played Ned Leeds’ grandmother in the 2021 film, died on April 15 in Honolulu, Hawaii, according to her family.
It is understood that Rivera suffered a stroke that left her in an ‘extremely serious’ condition before she fell into a coma.
Her family told TMZ on Monday that even if Rivera had regained consciousness, her chances of recovery were very slim.
After hearing the reports from doctors, her family made the decision to take her off of life support.
Despite only having a small role in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, Rivera made a lasting impression on audiences for famously ordering Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) to clean up his cobwebs.

The light-hearted moment quickly became a fan favourite following the film’s release.
Rivera’s family said she was ‘extremely proud’ of appearing in the Marvel blockbuster and considered it one of the greatest achievements of her life.
Spider-Man: No Way Home became one of the biggest films of 2021, reuniting Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire on screen in a multiverse adventure that broke box office records worldwide.
Tributes have begun to pour in from fans, many remembering Rivera for her brief but scene-stealing appearance in the hit superhero film.
